Synopsis

Tagging along with her senior Kyoji on a gig at a nursing home, Akane gets her first real chance to open for others in front of an audience. What does it truly mean to tell rakugo that makes people happy? Feeling her way forward, the answer she reaches begins to shape the outline of her own art. Around the same time she learns of the Karaku Cup, a rakugo contest for students, and that its head judge will be none other than her father's nemesis, Issho. Desperate to compete, Akane is handed a condition by her master Shiguma.

At the nursing home, Akane finds a way to perform that meets her listeners' memories and feelings, and feels the reward of making them smile. When she begs to enter the Karaku Cup, Shiguma sets strict conditions such as expanding her repertoire, which she works desperately to fulfill. Learning that Issho will chair the judges makes the stage for avenging her father suddenly concrete. Rivals her own age begin to appear, and tension rises sharply as the volume points toward the contest arc.
