Synopsis

Griffith, once the charismatic leader of the Band of the Hawk, is reduced to a shattered shell following a year of torture. As Guts finds a shred of hope in his growing bond with Casca, a desperate act by the broken Griffith tears the fabric of reality apart. The Eclipse approaches, bringing with it an otherworldly nightmare where the dream of the Hawks will drown in a sea of blood. Causality tightens its grip, and Guts is forced to confront a destiny where every bond he cherishes is destined for sacrifice in the encroaching abyss.

After Guts rescues the mangled Griffith, the former commander is a ghost of his past, unable to speak or walk. Feeling useless, Griffith rides away in a fit of despair, only to encounter the God Hand at the edge of a mystical lake. They offer him a choice: become a member of their ranks by sacrificing everything he holds dear. As the sky turns pitch black and the eclipse begins, a gruesome reality manifests. The Band of the Hawk is surrounded by monstrous entities, and Griffith chooses to offer them as food to fuel his reincarnation as Femto. Guts watches in horror as his comrades are slaughtered, realizing his leader has betrayed their loyalty to achieve his godhood. This act of cold-blooded sacrifice shatters Guts’ world, marking the end of the Hawks and branding him with a mark that ensures his life will be an eternal battle against the forces of darkness.
