Synopsis

The invasion of the Kushan Empire reduces the holy city of Vritannis to a chaotic theater of slaughter. Donning the Berserker Armor, Guts unleashes unrestrained destruction against waves of demonic entities, struggling to preserve his humanity while his mind teeters on the edge of oblivion. Meanwhile, Griffith and his reborn Band of the Hawk accelerate their conquest, reshaping the world under the banner of a radiant, yet hollow, utopia. As the boundary between the physical and astral realms thins, the inevitable convergence of these two fated warriors promises a catastrophic shift in the balance of existence.

Under the command of Emperor Ganishka, hordes of twisted monsters swarm Vritannis, blurring the line between reality and nightmare. Guts engages in a brutal display of violence, his Berserker Armor fueling his body beyond biological limits at the cost of his own life force. Schierke acts as the vital anchor to his consciousness, pulling him back from the bottomless abyss of his inner beast. Across the battlefield, Griffith commands his army with god-like precision, presenting himself as a messianic figure amidst the carnage. However, his actions are cold, calculating, and detached from the value of human life. The narrative reaches a fever pitch as the Kushan's dark sorcery forces these conflicting destinies into the same geographic space. Guts suffers under the weight of the Brand, sensing Griffith’s proximity as a burning, hateful reminder of his past. He fights not for glory, but for the fragile safety of his companions, choosing to bleed for the warmth of their presence rather than succumb to the cold allure of power. This volume captures the harrowing duality of existence, where one man strives to remain human in the face of annihilation, while another transforms into a divine idol built upon the corpses of the fallen.
