Synopsis

In the shadow of Falconia, Griffith’s golden utopia, the remnants of humanity seek refuge from the encroaching darkness. While Griffith orchestrates a world under his divine protection, Guts and his companions navigate the treacherous seas toward the mythical Elfhelm. Their goal remains singular: to restore Casca’s fractured mind. As Rickert uncovers the haunting truth behind Griffith’s pristine city, the divide between the god-like commander and the struggling mortal hero grows insurmountable. This volume captures the stark contrast between a false paradise and the grueling, bloody path toward genuine redemption.

⚠ Spoiler warning — tap to reveal
Rickert steps into Falconia, expecting a reunion with an old friend, only to find himself standing before a deity. Griffith’s mastery over the world is absolute, yet his presence reeks of the atrocities that birthed his kingdom. When offered a place in the new order, Rickert chooses defiance, slapping Griffith and severing their final tie to the past. This act of courage exposes the fragile facade of the city. Meanwhile, Guts fights against the physical and psychological toll of his journey, guarding Casca as they cross perilous waters. The contrast is visceral: Griffith builds a graveyard disguised as heaven, while Guts embraces the struggle to save a soul. With the weight of the Brand of Sacrifice and the memory of the Eclipse driving them, the party edges closer to the sanctuary of the fairies. The divide is absolute; one rules the world from a throne of skulls, while the other wages war against fate itself just to make his loved one whole again.
