Synopsis

Deep inside Hueco Mundo, the Arrancar arc hits full speed in Volume 31. Learning that Ulquiorra is the one who declared Rukia dead and dragged Orihime into the hollow world, Ichigo throws himself at the Cuarta Espada once more. But the coldest of Aizen's soldiers answers with overwhelming spiritual pressure, and a devastating Cero tears straight through Ichigo. Ulquiorra's Cero punches clean through Ichigo's chest, ripping out his heart and his reiatsu with it. As he falls, Orihime screams, and the sound cracks open something buried inside him. His inner Hollow surges to the surface and reshapes his body into a monstrous, masked, horned form. Mindless and merciless, this new Ichigo overpowers Ulquiorra completely, tearing off an arm and a leg. Neither human nor Soul Reaper, he has become a true monster, and Orihime can only tremble in Grimmjow's grip as the arc's madness finally bares its teeth.
