Synopsis

The fierce battle between Soul Reapers and Fullbringers enters its final stage. The old and new Substitute Soul Reapers, Ichigo and Ginjo, clash with their beliefs on the line. Ginjo reveals that the Substitute Badge is actually a surveillance device, a collar meant for the Soul Society to eliminate any substitute who grows too powerful. The root of the betrayal was the rage of one who was used and discarded. Yet even faced with this truth, Ichigo chooses to trust his friends and the Soul Society, finally cutting down Tsukishima and Ginjo. After the battle, Urahara quietly watches over the rain-soaked Ginjo in his final moments. The incident settles, daily life returns to the restored Ichigo, and the story steps quietly toward its final arc, the Thousand-Year Blood War.
