Denji wants school and routine, but the pressure to stop being Chainsaw Man makes “normal” feel like a muzzle. Yoshida and Public Safety treat him as weapon or bomb and push him not to transform. Meanwhile Asa learns a devastating fact from Yoru (the War Devil) about Chainsaw Man and the world’s machinery—she can no longer play pure victim. Reasons to fight and the terror of being used share the same body; her choices swing between human pity and devil logic. Across the city the Chainsaw Man Church multiplies believers, twisting personal worship of Denji under a banner of salvation. Church figures and unexplained contacts crash his daily life, while Nayuta sharpens his will to protect “family.” Meals, crushes, mornings—all of them can become someone else’s piece. Volume 16 sands down Denji’s stalling ground and aims Church, Public Safety, and devil lines at the same intersection. The moment he knows either choice bleeds, the story accelerates into the next hell.
