Synopsis

Prompted by a baffling family incident troubling Momo's childhood friend Jin "Jiji" Enjoji, Okarun and the group travel to Jiji's home in a hot-springs town. An uneasy air hanging over the town and the shadow of a clan clinging to old customs lead the three toward a new supernatural threat. Unlike the alien-driven fights, a story of curses and spirits rooted in the land begins to move, testing not only Momo and Okarun's bond but also their new ties with Jiji. Romance, comedy, and horror share the stage in Volume 4.

Behind the incident at Jiji's house lie the Kito clan, who worship a giant serpent, and a curse bound to the land. A sealed-off room and presences held back by talismans are planted as setup leading into the next "Evil Eye" arc, and Jiji himself becomes tied to the heart of the story. Momo's spirit power and Okarun's monster form face new trials against these homegrown horrors, putting the trio's teamwork to the test. Momo's feelings toward Jiji subtly unsettle Okarun, and a hint of a love triangle starts to form—a turning-point volume.
