Synopsis

Okarun watched helplessly as the Evil Eye attacked Momo right in front of him. Determined to grow stronger, he's whisked away with Aira by Turbo Granny to—of all places—the school music room in the dead of night. There, the ghosts of composers step out of their portraits and attack. Using Turbo Granny's hints, Okarun defeats them and, tempered by the ordeal, resolves to face Jiji—the Evil Eye destined to be exorcised—in an all-out duel. Volume 8 is where growth and friendship collide.

Through the deadly clash with the composer ghosts, Okarun grasps how to fully command his yokai power and levels up dramatically. After training, he trades honest punches with Jiji (the Evil Eye), rebuilding their bond as rivals and true friends. In the wake of that all-out fight, the Evil Eye's power lingering inside Jiji is finally laid to rest, and Jiji reclaims his own body. Just as the four solidify their bond, a colossal spaceship and the Serpo aliens appear in the sky, steering the story from paranormal hunts toward a full-blown battle against extraterrestrials.
