In the vanished weapon case, Conan sees through the trick of using something that melts and disappears, like ice, as the murder weapon. From the clue of voices sounding alike, it emerges that the culprit impersonated someone else over the phone. The crime that looked like magic was nothing more than a physical trick using mirrors and rigging. The bloodstained bandage becomes proof of a wound the culprit suffered, and Conan presents it as decisive evidence. Behind the truth told through tears lay a heartbreaking motive.
