Synopsis

High school detective Shinichi Kudo, shrunk into Conan Edogawa, takes on new cases in Gosho Aoyama's mystery, volume 55. In a locked-room murder during the TV event "Detective Koshien," Conan, Hattori, and Hakuba each build separate deductions and, unusually, each name a different culprit. It also collects everyday Junior Detective chapters and the "Eri's Secret" arc that digs into Eri Kisaki's past. The pride of great detectives clashes head-on while a story of family bonds unfolds, making for a well-paced volume.

In the Detective Koshien arc, over the locked-room killing of Tokitsu, Conan, Hattori, and Hakuba each name a different culprit, but in the end Conan attacks the method of the locked room and a hole in the alibi to fix the true killer and motive. Their deductions diverged because of differing viewpoints. In the closing "Eri's Secret" arc, Eri's untold past and her relationship with Kogoro come to light, revealing the feelings behind their separation. In the everyday chapters, a casual action by Genta and the others becomes the thread that solves a case.
