Synopsis

Volume 90 gets dangerously close to the Black Organization. It was released as the film "The Darkest Nightmare" broke a series-record 6 billion yen at the box office, with the manga, anime, and movies all peaking past the twentieth year of serialization. This volume brims with episodes that close in on the organization's core: the truth behind the Akai vs. Amuro grudge, and the relationship between Masumi Sera and the "out-of-bounds sister." On top of that, the romance between Heiji and Kazuha keeps wavering. A can't-miss volume where deduction and human drama intertwine densely.

At the heart of the Akai-Amuro grudge lies an incident in which the Public Security agent Scotch died during an organization mission, and the reasons Amuro came to resent Akai gradually surface. The picture of Masumi Sera, the "out-of-bounds sister" Mary, and Shuichi Akai being bound together as one real family, the Sera household, grows much clearer, and the fact that Akai is alive and secretly maneuvering drives the plot forward. Heiji and Kazuha's romance keeps coming a step short of fruition. With the net around the organization steadily tightening, this is one of the series' major turning-point volumes.
