Synopsis

The evil genius Dr. Mashirito builds Obotchaman, a robot with the exact same construction as Arale. Refined and gentle on the outside, yet packing power on Arale's level!! Obotchaman challenges Arale under his mistaken belief, but as they fight the two somehow hit it off and he starts to see through Mashirito's lies. The pure-hearted Obotchaman gradually warms up to the folks of Penguin Village, and what should have been a villain slides into a lovable ally role. A tender little bond with Arale sprouts too, and Mashirito's scheme spins uselessly. In a finale where slapstick and warmth coexist, Obotchaman settles in as a new signature character of the village, hinting at return appearances in the volumes to come.
