Synopsis

Moro, a monstrous criminal the Kais sealed away at the cost of their lives ten million years ago, breaks out of the Galactic Patrol prison. A magical fiend who drains the life energy of entire planets, Moro heads for the New Namek to seize the wish-granting Dragon Balls and reclaim his prime power. Asked to help by the Galactic Patrol, Goku and Vegeta rush to the scene to confront him. But against Moro's energy-absorbing power, the two are drained to the bone—even Super Saiyan Blue proves useless. This volume opens a new arc with the first clash against an unprecedented foe.

Goku throws his full Super Saiyan Blue power at Moro, but Moro absorbs energy without even touching him, stripping Goku of his strength entirely. Realizing he stands no chance, Goku is forced into an emergency retreat using the Supreme Kai's power. Vegeta too is overwhelmed, and the pair suffer a crushing defeat. Back on Earth, Goku resolves to truly master the still-incomplete Ultra Instinct through training in the Sacred World of the Kai. Vegeta, meanwhile, chooses to travel to Planet Yardrat to learn its unique techniques that manipulate spirit energy. Facing an off-the-charts enemy in Moro, the two set off in search of new power as the volume closes.
