Synopsis

Dragon Ball Vol. 2 shifts from treasure hunt to hard training. Having foiled the Pilaf Gang, Goku becomes Master Roshi's pupil alongside a shaven-headed boy named Krillin. The absurd Turtle School regimen kicks off: milk deliveries, plowing fields by hand, and outrunning dinosaurs, all while lugging heavy shells. Roshi demands the boys bring him a pretty girl before he'll teach them; they deliver Launch, whose personality flips between a violent blonde and a sweet brunette whenever she sneezes, and she moves into Kame House. Goku and Krillin grind through brutal daily drills, milk runs, bare-handed farming, and fleeing dinosaurs, all under heavy shells, and their strength and speed skyrocket. After eight months Roshi decides they're ready and sends the pair off to the Tenkaichi Budokai, their bond and skills firmly forged.
