Synopsis

Majin Buu has killed even his master Babidi and now obeys no one, spreading destruction on a whim while the Earth is trampled defenseless. With Vegeta fallen and Gohan missing, the only hope left rests on two young warriors: Goten and Trunks. Allowed only a brief return to the living world, Goku bets Earth's future on their raw potential and begins training them in Fusion, the legendary technique that merges two hearts and bodies into one. The grueling drills of a badly-matched duo begin.

Goku drills Goten and Trunks in Fusion, a dance where the slightest misaligned pose ruins everything. Their first tries produce a fat, ridiculous warrior and then a scrawny, skin-and-bones one, total failures. Once they nail it perfectly, the two merge into the mighty warrior Gotenks, though the fusion only lasts about thirty minutes. Meanwhile, in the World of the Kais, the Old Kai works to draw out Gohan's hidden power to its absolute limit through a "potential unlock" ritual. The trump cards against Buu are being forged in heaven and on Earth at once.
