Synopsis

Volume 19 of Hiroya Oku's sci-fi action epic, in which the dead are gathered by a mysterious black sphere called GANTZ and forced into war against aliens. The Catastrophe arc reaches its peak as Kei Kurono and the Tokyo team face unimaginable enemies and a planet-wide crisis. Pushing through the death and loss of comrades, Kurono throws himself into a battle for humanity's survival, wielding the GANTZ suit and giant mecha weapons. The global alien invasion escalates further, forcing Kurono and the others into an all-out war against a massive enemy force. Piloting powerful giant-type weapons and the GANTZ suit, Kurono confronts overwhelmingly strong foes, but many comrades are sacrificed as the price. Brutal choices for survival pile up one after another, and Kurono is driven to the very brink of death. Even so, carrying the will of his fallen friends, he holds his ground and barely turns the situation around. Yet behind the victory the world's devastation is immense, and with the identity of GANTZ and the buildup to the final battle looming, the story surges toward its climax.
