Synopsis

Summer at Ooezo Agricultural High School makes Yugo Hachiken's days busier than ever. Swept up in preparing for the Ezono Festival, he throws himself into the pizza oven and pork-processing projects he started, learning firsthand how fun and how demanding farming can be. Between the equestrian club, his awkward distance from Aki, and the lively hours with his dorm friends, the satisfaction of making something with his own hands is something he never knew in the city, and it quietly makes this city boy a little bigger.

Hachiken pours himself into building a pizza oven for the Ezono Festival, rallying his friends to make the handmade stall a success. The thrill of planning something and seeing it through plants a small seed of confidence in a boy still lost about his future. Watching Aki torn between horses and her own path, he wrestles with wanting to support her and feeling powerless to do so. Making processed foods, he faces the reality of taking a life again, and though he cries, he learns to accept it. By summer's end, Hachiken has truly begun to change.
