Synopsis

The stage shifts to Tokyo, where four schools clash in the qualifiers for the Spring Interhigh. In a semifinal where victory means a trip to nationals, Karasuno's rivals Nekoma face the powerhouse Fukurodani. Against the overwhelming spikes of ace Bokuto, who is riding an unstoppable hot streak, libero Yaku throws his whole body into every dig while the cerebral setter Kenma calmly searches for a way to crack him. Nekoma cannot fully contain Bokuto at his peak and struggles against Fukurodani. Still, Kenma's meticulous reading flips off Bokuto's fickle "mood" switch, and Yaku's relentless receives drag the momentum back. In the end Fukurodani's all-around strength prevails, and they take the semifinal to punch their ticket to nationals first. The defeated Nekoma must fight on for the remaining slot, and Kuroo's team refuses to give up on the national stage. The strength and rivalries of Karasuno's future opponents are vividly drawn here.
