Synopsis

Ippo trains believing in a final against Miyata - until Miyata suffers a shocking defeat, collapsing the stage of their promise. His final opponent is the very man who beat Miyata, and Ippo climbs into the ring vowing to win for both of them. He struggles early against the foe's unorthodox style, but Kamogawa's orders and his hard-earned fundamentals hold him up. After a savage war, Ippo floors his rival with an all-out right to claim the East Japan Rookie King crown. Yet Miyata's back, the promise unkept, feels farther and heavier than ever.
