Synopsis

Cut off the head and the Spider still won't die. Kurapika finally captures the Troupe's leader Chrollo, only to realize the Phantom Troupe is a spider-like collective that keeps crawling even without its head. Still, to save Gon and Killua's lives, Kurapika gambles on the leader's value as a hostage. Tense negotiations, lives bound in chains, and convictions no one will surrender bring the Yorknew arc to its close. From here the story pivots hard toward the adventure surrounding Ging's game, Greed Island.

The hostage exchange with Kurapika goes through and Gon and Killua are freed unharmed. It's a nerve-wracking, no-win-no-loss ending: a truce with the Troupe while their leader stays sealed. Having survived Yorknew, Gon learns of the game Greed Island his father Ging left behind and becomes certain it holds a clue to Ging. But the rare software costs an astronomical sum, so Gon and Killua set out to earn money through the Hunters' auction and a return to the arena, kicking off the run-up to the Greed Island arc.
