Synopsis

Hideo and Hiromi's journey pushes deeper into a world where the ZQN threat has entered a new phase. The ZQN begin fusing with one another into colossal monstrosities, and the scale of the threat spirals beyond human comprehension. Hideo and Hiromi are driven into corner after corner by overwhelming numbers, yet Hideo is no longer a man who only runs. Shielding his companions, carrying Hiromi, and carving a path with his few remaining bullets, he seems a different person from the timid, camera-loving assistant he once was. The effect Hiromi's half-infected constitution has on the swarms surfaces as a new mystery, strongly implying that she may hold the fate of the world. The thicker the despair grows, the more weight his words — "I am the hero" — begin to carry. A run-up volume toward the series' blazing climax.
