Synopsis

Chasing the scattered shards of the Shikon Jewel, Inuyasha and Kagome are thrown into one demon battle after another. The two still don't fully trust each other, yet against monsters swollen with the jewel's power and creatures that prey on human weakness, they slowly begin to fight as one. Kagome awakens to the power of her bow as she shuttles between the modern world and the feudal era, while Inuyasha, in the heat of protecting those around him, starts to reveal glimpses of his heart. Here, demons who have swallowed shards of the Shikon Jewel raid human villages, and Inuyasha strikes back with claws and demonic strength. Kagome discovers that arrows charged with her spiritual power can purify a shard along with its corruption, and the pair's roles finally click together. After brutal clashes with wolves and towering monsters, there are moments where Inuyasha earnestly shields Kagome, and trust quietly takes root beneath their squabbling. Meanwhile, the presence of whoever drove Kikyo to her death flickers into view, and the loneliness and old wounds Inuyasha carries as a half-demon begin to weigh on where the journey leads.
