Synopsis

In Volume 33 Naraku's detachments begin to act on wills of their own. The infant gains a guardian called Moroha and shields itself, transforming from Naraku's weakness into a threat to Naraku himself. Inuyasha seeks the new power sleeping within Tessaiga, his father's keepsake, straining through training and battle to draw out the blade's true worth. Kagome's arrows, Miroku's Wind Tunnel, Sango's Hiraikotsu are all honed as the pieces for Naraku's downfall steadily fall into place.

Tessaiga hints at the path toward the Meido Zangetsuha that devours demonic energy, and Inuyasha senses the blade's further evolution. The infant and its guardian break free of Naraku's control, scheming to protect his own heart. Kagura watches for a chance to betray Naraku, drawing close to Sesshomaru to leak information. Naraku uses the mirror demon Kanna to split Inuyasha's group apart, but Kagome's purifying power shatters the trick. Naraku's true body grows vast and regenerates, swelling the scale of the coming showdown.
