Synopsis

Exposed by the detective Kuramori, Shinichi joins forces with Uda, a young man whose right hand hosts a parasite of the same name. Through a tense gamble, he manages to turn Kuramori from a hunter into an ally. Reversing his role, Kuramori now aims his investigation at Reiko Tamura and the Hirokawa faction from the inside. But confronted with the bottomless horror of creatures that wear human faces to hunt humans, he loses his nerve and pulls back. To erase the anomaly named Shinichi for good, the parasites dispatch Miki, an assassin hosting not one but two individuals.

The alliance with Uda captures the solidarity only fellow parasite-hosts can share, showing Shinichi he need not be alone. Kuramori uncovers the existence of Reiko's infant, a discovery that becomes the bomb that warps his fate. The assassin Miki is a monstrous exception, harboring two parasites in a single brain, and his overwhelming combat power kills Uda and drives Shinichi and Migi to the brink of death. With a human counterattack using poison in the mix, Miki finally goes berserk, catches fire, and perishes. The all-out war between the strong bares its fangs, pushing the story toward the tense eve of Goto's arrival.
