Synopsis

The new jutsu Naruto forged through brutal training erupts: the Wind Style Rasenshuriken. A storm of wind blades that not even the Fourth Hokage could complete shreds Kakuzu—hearts and all—down to the cellular level, finally bringing down one of the Akatsuki. But the price is a grave wound to Naruto's own arm. At the same time, Sasuke turns on Orochimaru in his hunger for power. The volume's biggest spectacle is Sasuke devouring his old master Orochimaru from within. On the brink of being taken over as a vessel, Sasuke uses his own will and the Sharingan to seal—and then consume—Orochimaru's very soul. The snake's ambition, which had exploited Sasuke for years, is ironically swallowed by the boy meant to be his host. Now empowered, Sasuke gathers Jugo, Suigetsu, and Karin and sets his sights on his brother Itachi. Meanwhile Naruto defeats Kakuzu with the Rasenshuriken but injures his own arm from the cell-destroying backlash, feeling the weight of the technique.
