Synopsis

The barrier around Tsuchimikado Island finally vanishes, unleashing a horde of Kegare into the living world. Fighting in Magano, Rokuro and Arushu are struck helpless when Arima Tsuchimikado, head of the exorcists, arrives to rescue them only to be cut down by the basara Naraka before their eyes. Yet Arima reconnects his failing spiritual power and pulls off an astonishing revival. To face Naraka once more, he lays his hand on the last forbidden art left to an exorcist. Having broken the final taboo, Arima unleashes power great enough to trade for his own life and drives a full-force blow into Naraka. The staggering cost leaves Arima gravely wounded, and he begins to pass his role as the pillar of the exorcists on to the next generation. Rokuro and Arushu inherit their master's resolve from his back and desperately hold the collapsing front line. Yuto's madness accelerates further, dragging all of Tsuchimikado Island toward the worst outcome as it is swallowed by Magano. With the barrier gone, the harm spreads to civilians, and the story pushes toward the threshold of a final showdown where salvation and sacrifice intertwine.
