Synopsis

Casting off his humanity, the former CCG coroner Kanou openly declares his allegiance to Aogiri Tree. With Rize torn away and reality piling up faster than he can grasp it, Kaneki's mind breaks past its limits. Accumulated loss and fury reshape him into a half-kakuja. As Kaneki rages beyond reason, the CCG throws its full strength into stopping him. Driven past the edge by loss and rage, Kaneki loses his reason and transforms into a half-kakuja wrapped in kagune. Facing that overwhelming power, the CCG orders an SS-rank deployment, and Shinohara and the others mount an all-out battle. But the rampaging Kaneki wounds even his allies without distinction, and his clash with Amon carves the bond between them deeper still. When Kaneki finally comes to himself, he is crushed by the truth that his power cannot be controlled. The rampage sows a rift with his friends and lays uneasy groundwork for the owl extermination to come, deepening his solitude.
