Synopsis

Half a year has passed since the fierce conflict in the 11th ward, and Tokyo's balance enters a new phase. With their role in the suppression of Aogiri Tree recognized, the CCG's investigators are promoted one after another. Newly raised to senior investigator, Kotaro Amon welcomes a long-awaited partner: Akira Mado, daughter of his former superior Kureo Mado. Meanwhile, having left Anteiku, the white-haired Kaneki sets out with Tsukiyama, Banjo, and others into the new ground of the 6th ward, tracing Rize's footsteps to unravel his own past. Two lines that should never intersect slowly begin to converge upon an unexpected focal point.

Kaneki now leads a small band of ghouls of his own, closing in on Rize's secrets and the mystery of how ghouls come to be. The young man who was once only protected has become the one who leads others and seizes information for himself. On the investigators' side, Amon and the rookie Akira Mado begin to forge a bond as partners, renewing their resolve to hunt ghouls. Approaching the same truth from opposite sides, the two draw closer without realizing it. As Kaneki's past and Rize's true nature gradually come to light, the story strides into a new arc, heavy with the promise of a reunion and a clash to come.
