Synopsis

The "Kanto Incident" surges into a new phase in Volume 19. Facing Tenjiku's overwhelming might, the Tokyo Manji Gang is forced into a grueling struggle on every front. Standing against the formidable Haitani brothers is the "Youngest Sons Alliance" formed by Hakkai and Nahoya "Angry" Kawata. Covering for each other, the two take on opponents far above their level, but in the thick of a losing fight, an unexpected change comes over the normally composed Angry. The focus of this volume is the fierce effort of Hakkai and Angry as they take on the formidable Haitani brothers. Cornered in a losing fight, the usually gentle Angry unleashes the fury he keeps locked inside to protect his brother Smiley, undergoing what can only be called an awakening. Hakkai, too, confronts his past trauma and overcomes his own weakness. In each of these local skirmishes, the members of the Tokyo Manji Gang show their grit, and the tide of the entire battle slowly begins to shift. Moments where the bonds between friends turn into strength are depicted throughout, greatly heightening anticipation for the climax to come in the next volume.
