Synopsis

Ataru Moroboshi carries the unluckiest face in the universe, and in this sixth volume even praying to the gods backfires spectacularly. A cheat sheet tucked into a lucky charm summons the scholar-deity Sugawara no Michizane, who promptly showers Ataru with misfortune. The god summoned from the charm is no help at all, amplifying Ataru's bad luck instead of fixing it. Calling on the eight million deities only makes things worse, as the gods abandon their duties for endless drinking and revelry. Ataru's cursed fate proves beyond even divine power to correct, and Lum alone stays by his side through the wreckage. Every attempt at heavenly rescue fails, yet the bond between the two remains unbroken, driving home just how deep Ataru's misfortune runs even the gods give up on him.
