Synopsis

The Illuminati approached the young Izumo for one purpose: to seize the power of the Nine-Tails. Her mother Tamamo was reduced to a test subject, and Izumo was imprisoned alongside her little sister Tsukumo. As the brutal history of the Kamiki family comes to light, Rin and the others learn the truth of the fate forced upon this girl and long to rescue Izumo as quickly as possible—yet the enemy's plan has already entered its final stage.

It is revealed that Tamamo was used as a vessel for the Nine-Tails until she broke, and that young Izumo and Tsukumo were being raised as the "next vessels." Through flashbacks, the deep loneliness and the pain of losing her mother behind Izumo's cold demeanor are laid bare. The Illuminati moves to force the transplant of the Nine-Tails into Izumo, and Rin's group launches a rescue operation. The story returns to the present and ends just as Rin's flames and the enemy's science are about to collide head-on for the climax.
