Synopsis

In the midst of battle against the grotesque corpse-soldiers created by the Illuminati, Rin and the others realize the corpses still retain human intellect and will, and their blades falter. Should they be struck down or saved? Torn by that dilemma, they are driven into a corner. The corpse-soldiers are revealed to be humans reshaped through experiments, and Rin fiercely resists cutting them down as mere enemies. Izumo's resolve hardens, and the key to awakening the true power inherited from her mother is hinted at. As Izumo is strapped to the surgical table for the Nine-Tails transplant, Rin's blue flames swell to the brink of a rampage that could burn the facility to the ground. Teamwork pushes the rescue forward, but the schemes of Gedoin and the other executives entangle it, bringing the Izumo arc to its greatest peak and setting up the resolution in the next volume.
