Synopsis

Having found a thread leading to the Illuminati, Lightning storms Mephisto's mansion alone, taking Suguro with him. He dangles the fact that Mephisto has broken the laws of the Knights, hoping to extract in return a path to the enemy's stronghold. After a tense game of nerves with the unreadable Mephisto, the door to the heart of the Illuminati finally opens before Rin and the others. Mephisto turns his own violation to his advantage, granting Lightning and the others a means of teleporting to a site tied to the Illuminati. Infiltrating it, Rin and the others witness that the Illuminati, led by Lucifer, are pursuing a grand plan to fuse demons and humans. Meanwhile, Yukio, obsessed with his father's death and his own origins, gradually loses his mental balance and begins dangerously drifting toward the enemy in his hunger for power. The brothers' paths quietly but decisively begin to diverge, and the story accelerates toward an unavoidable all-out clash between True Cross and the Illuminati.
