Synopsis

Under his brother Yukio's strict tutelage, Rin Okumura begins real training at the Exorcism Cram School. With the entrance qualification exam looming before summer break, the students head off to a grueling boot camp. Away from the classroom, Rin struggles to control the blue flames stirring inside him while adjusting to life alongside classmates who barely trust him. Then a demon appears, drawn straight to Rin — and it turns its fury on the other trainees too. Can he protect his friends without being consumed by his own fire? Volume 2 marks Rin's first true step as an exorcist.

The demon that raids the camp is a familiar gone berserk, reacting to Rin's blue flames. Breaking the rules, Rin draws his sword and unleashes the blue fire to save everyone — but in doing so he exposes his true nature in front of his classmates. Shima, Suguro and the other Kyoto students recoil when they realize Rin is the son of Satan, and they pull away from him. Yukio shields his brother while imposing brutal drills to master the flame. By the end, Rin refuses to be a monster and fights to be accepted as a comrade, setting up the emotional flashback to their foster father Fujimoto.
