Synopsis

With the decisive clash against Aizen looming, Ichigo, Chad and Ishida each throw themselves into brutal training. Ichigo turns to the Vizard to master his inner Hollow, Ishida hunts for the power he lost, and Chad awakens the true strength in his arm. But while Orihime is quietly cut from the front line and left aching over it, everything changes in an instant: a pair of newly-arrived Arrancar tear through the peace of Karakura Town, shattering the calm before the storm. Ichigo enters the Vizard's hideout and puts his life on the line to force his inner Hollow into submission — win the mask within the time limit, or be devoured whole. The town is attacked by two Arrancar, Yammy and Ulquiorra; paralyzed and unable to protect his friends, Ichigo is saved only by Urahara's intervention. Crushed by her own helplessness, Orihime starts drawing Ulquiorra's attention here. It's quietly hinted that Aizen's true interest is her Shun Shun Rikka — her rejection of reality itself.
