Synopsis

On the way home from the Soul Society, Orihime is intercepted by the Arrancar Ulquiorra and forced to be taken to Hueco Mundo, Aizen's stronghold. But before she goes, she uses the brief reprieve Ulquiorra grants her to slip back to the mortally wounded Ichigo one last time. Orihime accepts Aizen's terms — that her friends will be left alone — and agrees to be taken to Hueco Mundo by herself. In her one night of grace she stands over the sleeping Ichigo, lifts a hand that stops a finger's width short, and whispers that she wishes she could become his heart someday. The kiss never happens. By morning she is gone, and only a single petal of her Shun Shun Rikka, found by Ishida, remains. Nearly branded a traitor, Ichigo and the others instead resolve to invade Hueco Mundo to bring her back. From here the story drives into the heart of the Arrancar arc.
