Synopsis

The turbulent Japan-USA showdown reaches its climax. When Inui is injured, Miyuki is suddenly paired with Narumiya to form a battery, and the two usual rivals take on the fearsome American lineup together. At the same moment, in Seidou's game against Yamamori Gakuin, Yui, who dons the mask in place of the injured Ono, lets a Furuya pitch get past him and hands the opponents the first run. The fragility of a young defense translates straight into runs in a brutal stretch. Meanwhile, Sawamura steadily prepares for the coming clash with Aichi's powerhouse Seiho, setting the stage for the next battle.

⚠ Spoiler warning — tap to reveal
Rivals Miyuki and Narumiya form an improvised battery that, surprisingly, clicks against the U.S. hitters as the two instantly read each other's intentions. Watching their high baseball IQs collide and then fuse is the highlight. On the Seidou side, Yui's passed ball echoes through the game, showing how dangerous it is to field an inexperienced catcher. Furuya is confronted with his own immaturity, crumbling every time the catcher changes. The Japan-USA game shines with the Tokyo team's pride, while Seidou's practice match once again carves in the importance of the catcher as the anchor of the defense.
