Synopsis

Momo Ayase, a high-schooler who believes in ghosts, and Ken "Okarun" Takakura, an occult nerd obsessed with aliens, each dismiss what the other believes—so they split up to prove it, one heading to an abandoned hospital, the other to a haunted tunnel. Momo is ambushed by aliens while Okarun is caught by the yokai Turbo Granny, and both discover the other was right all along. Momo's hidden psychic power awakens, and together with Okarun—now missing a certain body part—they plunge into a chaotic war of aliens and spirits. Youth and battle break loose at once in Volume 1.

Momo's spirit power runs in her family through her grandmother and erupts under pressure. Okarun loses his "family jewels" to Turbo Granny but gains a transformation that lets him turn into a monstrous fighter and drive off the Serpo aliens. Both aliens and ghosts turn out to be real—this volume locks in the rules of the world. Momo and Okarun clash constantly, but fighting side by side slowly pulls them closer, and the first sparks of romance appear. Their feud with Turbo Granny begins here too.
