Synopsis

The long war between rival Kingdoms of Science reaches a new phase in an unexpected way. Senku and Dr. Xeno—the two finest scientists to survive into the stone world—achieve a miraculous alliance around a single aim: pinpointing the source of humanity's petrification. But no calm collaboration is allowed. The cruel sniper Stanley's clutches give fierce chase across the seas and lands of South America. Crossing the line between enemy and ally, the scientists pool their wisdom and close in on the secret of the very "beginning"—the truth behind what turned humanity to stone. One of the series' great turning-point volumes, stepping into the heart of the world's mystery.

⚠ Spoiler warning — tap to reveal
After a deadly struggle with Stanley, Senku and Dr. Xeno join forces as uneasy allies for now, and grow certain that the source of the petrification radio waves lies on the moon. Xeno reveals to Senku the location of America's scientific facilities, and as their scientific power merges, a plan to reach space begins to feel real. The greatest truth of the story takes shape: "Why-man," the culprit that petrified humanity, was not an earthly being but sent signals from the moon. From here the Kingdom of Science's goal leaps toward space development, laying the groundwork for entering the final arc—the "rocket to the moon" plan.
