Synopsis

Edo period, Japan. Hanbei and Masakichi, two peasants who should have drowned in the river, wake inside an abandoned temple. At its center floats an inscrutable black sphere. Ignoring their confusion, the orb hands down a merciless order: kill Miyamoto Musashi. With no idea why they live or how to survive, the dead are gathered into a grotesque hunt. Hiroya Oku opens his Edo-era death game.

Hanbei realizes this temple is a holding pen for the dead. The black suits the sphere provides grant inhuman strength and protection, but the price is becoming pawns sent to slaughter targets they never knew. The name Musashi is only bait; what the orb truly measures is whether a man can grip a blade without drowning in terror. As Masakichi panics, cold resolve begins to settle in Hanbei's eyes. There was never an exit.
