Synopsis

GANTZ Volume 27 races toward the climax of the Italy arc. Under the relentless assault of the god-statue giants called Oni, the hunters gathered from across the world are pushed to the brink of annihilation. Kei Kurono witnesses comrade after comrade fall, yet holds the line with his teleportation and razor-sharp combat instincts. Rome collapses into a sea of rubble as most of the GANTZ squad is killed. Nishi launches a suicidal strike at the statue's core, tearing off a piece with insane firepower, but the enemy keeps swarming endlessly. Kurono inherits the will of his dying comrades and stands alone at the front line. It becomes undeniable that the aliens' goal is a harvest and that Earth is already marked prey. With only a handful of survivors and victory nowhere in sight, Kurono retreats carrying a single vow: to reunite with Kato no matter what.
