Synopsis

Okita Sougo's older sister Mitsuba arrives in Edo to be married, but her merchant fiance is suspected of running an illegal weapons-trafficking ring behind the scenes. Old feelings resurface for Hijikata, Sougo worries for his beloved sister, and Gintama's cast is dragged into an incident that shakes the capital. Mitsuba's fiance Tamegoro is running an illegal arms trade, and Hijikata and Sougo move to expose him. Mitsuba, hiding her lingering love for Hijikata, leaves Edo and collapses from illness. The scene where a clumsy Hijikata tends to her in her sickbed is one of the series' greatest moments. Tamegoro is arrested, and Mitsuba passes away watched over by her brother and Hijikata. Sougo's grief, and the Shinsengumi acting normal despite it, hit hard.
