Synopsis

The Yorozuya take in Etsuko-chan, an amnesiac robot housekeeper. Behind her earnest hard work hides a grave secret tied to Amanto technology, and as her true nature comes to light the situation escalates into an uproar that shakes not just Edo but the whole country. Alongside this serious arc questioning the bond between humans and machines comes plenty of laughs, including a fierce scramble over the hot new "OWee" game console. Etsuko was originally built as an assassin android meant to target an Amanto VIP, but her days with the Yorozuya awaken a genuinely human heart. Learning the truth, Gintama and the others stand up to protect her from the forces trying to destroy her. After a brutal fight, Etsuko chooses of her own will to shield her friends. The earnest smile of a breaking machine and Gin's clumsy kindness make for a moving conclusion. The OWee arc erupts into a dead-serious gaming showdown that drags in the Shinsengumi.
