Synopsis

The Shinsengumi end up babysitting the good-for-nothing son of a distinguished family, and he gets dumped on Hijikata as an errand boy. Trouble erupts when it turns out his elder brother is the commander of the elite police unit, the Mimawarigumi, and sparks fly between the haughty officer and Hijikata. Worse still, the commander is quietly plotting something of his own. Rounding out the volume are sharp, funny shorts about a manga artist serializing from prison and a strange romance between a host and a noblewoman.
