Synopsis

Enshou and Shinsuke Takasugi — two men who have ceaselessly thrown themselves onto the battlefield, carrying revenge and loss on their backs — finally cross swords. What awaits beyond that clash: a further chain of hatred and vengeance, or another path where their feelings reach one another? Meanwhile, on the ground, everyone from nameless figures to familiar faces scrambles desperately to halt the runaway Ryumyaku. And even the Yorozuya's beloved dog, Sadaharu, sets off alone as if sensing something amiss. Hideaki Sorachi's late-arc ensemble drama is a volume where each person's resolve intersects.

At the end of his life-or-death duel with Enshou, Takasugi arrives at his own answer for breaking the chain of revenge and brings a measure of closure to their grudge. On the ground, the rampaging Ryumyaku becomes a crisis that could swallow the Earth itself, and Gin and the various factions race with everything they have to suppress it. Sadaharu's solo action turns out to be a pivotal move in the story, opening up a turn no one could have imagined. As every grudge and foreshadowing begins to converge on a single point toward the final showdown with Utsuro, the story tilts hard toward the eve of the series' grand finale in a tension-filled volume.
