Synopsis

Now that Karasuno is starting to take shape as a team, its first towering wall appears. A practice match against Aoba Johsai, one of the strongest schools in the prefecture, looms just before the spring qualifiers. Casting a shadow over it all is Toru Oikawa, the "Grand King," a genius setter who was Kageyama's senior in middle school. The Hinata-Kageyama quick is still newborn and may not hold up against superior opponents. Even so, with captain Daichi and the third-years at the core, Karasuno hardens itself into a team that genuinely aims for nationals. Volume 3 is a crucial turning point where these boys steel their resolve to grow stronger.

The defeat handed to Karasuno is not despair, though; it is proof of how much room they have to grow. Who is the real enemy, and how high must they climb to glimpse nationals?
