Synopsis

In ancient China, five centuries before unification, war orphan Shin dreams of becoming a Great General of the Heavens. Alongside his fellow servant Hyou, he trains with a wooden sword every day, refusing to accept a life of slavery. When Hyou is summoned to the palace and vanishes, he returns gravely wounded, entrusting Shin with a single map. Following it, Shin meets a boy who is his mirror image: Ei Sei, the young king of Qin. Hyou dies as a body double for King Ei Sei, killed in the coup staged by the king's younger brother Sei Kyou. Fueled by grief and rage, Shin chooses to fight beside Ei Sei. Fleeing through the mountains, they meet Ka Ryo Ten, a strange child hidden inside a straw disguise. Shin's raw sword talent clashes with Ei Sei's regal composure, yet a bond forms between them. Hyou's death is the spark that will one day forge the greatest general in China.
