Synopsis

Vastly outnumbered, Qin king Ei Sei and the mountain people fight on to reclaim the capital Kanyou. Ordered to split off as a separate unit, Shin and his comrades are tasked with striking the inner palace held by the rebellion's mastermind, the king's brother Sei Kyou. Barring their path stand monstrous giants under Sei Kyou's command and the scheming eunuch Kan Ki, who pulls the court's strings. The throne is nearly in reach, yet the road to it is the bloodiest of all. Shin's martial prowess is put to the ultimate test in this decisive fourth volume.

As Shin closes on the inner palace, Sei Kyou's trump card, the giant Ran Kai, blocks the way. Fighting like a beast rather than a man, he tramples the allies, but Shin claws forward, feeding on his comrades' sacrifices, and finally strikes Ran Kai down. In the throne room, Sei Kyou clings to bloodline and pride to the end, only to fall before Ei Sei's unshakable royal presence. The rebellion is fully crushed and Ei Sei recovers the capital. Through this battle, Shin first tastes what it means to make a name on the field, taking his first true step toward becoming a Great General.
