Synopsis

The long-brewing war against Zhao finally begins to move. During a recruitment drive the Hi Shin Unit meets two young brothers who boast of their skill with the bow, and their talent may hold the key to the unit's next evolution. Qin, bent on unifying China, plots a full assault on Zhao, but the genius strategist Li Mu blocks every obvious path to victory. As Shin, Ou Sen and the other commanders wrack their brains, this volume crackles with the tension of the night before an era-defining campaign.

The brother archers join the Hi Shin Unit and instantly raise its ranged firepower. Under Sho Hei Kun's guidance Qin locks in its grand strategy for invading Zhao, and a huge coalition army built around Ou Sen, Kan Ki and Shin takes shape. Because Li Mu makes a frontal breakthrough impossible, a gamble of a plan emerges: strike deep into enemy territory. Shin climbs another rung toward generalship, and the whole army sets off toward Zhao's royal heartland. The starting horn for one of the greatest battles in China's fate sounds clearly here.
